One needs to count their blessings…every day. We do and are very grateful for all that’s been given our little restoration business. The last few years, and even during these uncertain economic times, we’ve been fortunate to enjoy steady growth…resulting in our need to find a larger facility to accommodate the increased number of boats coming to our shop.
There have been occasions during the last year when we had to refer business to other shops, as we simply did not have the space and other resources to do the work in the timeframe requested. We’d rather do that than over commit ourselves which only frustrates the client and places unnecessary pressure on us. Well, we decided to do something about it. We moved into new digs in January. Our shop has more than tripled in size, provides a new clean room for refinish work, allows more boat storage, and even cuts my commute time in half. All of these have been sorely needed for some time, but worth the wait to find the right location. You can new see our new facility on our web site and in future project update photos.
Even though we’re extremely excited for the move and what it will allow us to do, there is always some risk when expanding and taking on more financial exposure. That being said, we negotiated an attractive rate due to the large number of vacancies in the area due to the poor economic times we’re in. It also helps when previous clients bring us second and third boats to restore, providing us with the all important repeat business. Without them and the many new clients, which nearly always become friends, our business would not survive.
So, we say ‘thanks’ to all our clients out there that keep us going. Do we count our blessings? You bet…every day!
